2. Initially loosen the tree strap above your head, move it up and then tighten. Then climb until you are eye level with the tree strap, then loosen the tree strap and move it up higher above your head and tighten strap. Then continue to climb higher. You will need to continue doing this until you have reached the height at which you wish to hunt. This method will not work with a ladder stand or with a hang on/lock on stand. See photos.
3. Please note: While climbing the rope and lanyard should be inside the top section of the treestand. See photo.
4. Once you have reached the height that you wish to go the tree strap needs to be secured such that the length of the harness tether must be minimized at all times. It should be adjusted so that it is above the head with no slack (snug) in the sitting position. The height above the head varies depending on how tall, short, etc. you may be. However, the tether and Hunter Rescue™ should be snug while you are in the sitting position. See photo.
D. Instructions for a Hang On/Lock On stand.
1. Follow the tree stand manufacturers instructions in installing the stand and using the tree stand.
2. The Hunter Rescue™ should be secured via the tree strap such that the harness tether length is minimized.
3. The Hunter Rescue™ should be secured such that the Hunter Rescue™ and lines hang to the side of the tree opposite of the sticks or ladder you used to get to the stand in. Why? So that the Hunter Rescue™ clears the hang on/lock on stand in the event it is needed. If you fall on the stick or ladder side you should be able to use the sticks or ladder to get back onto the stand. See photo.

E. Instructions for Ladder Stand.
1. Follow the tree stand manufacturers instructions in installing the stand and using it.
2. The Hunter Rescue™ should be secured via the tree strap such that the harness tether is minimized while in a seated position.
3. In a ladder stand the Hunter Rescue™ should be secured on the tree such that it centers the seat of the tree stand. Why? Because you do not know which side you will fall on. See photo.
4. Finally, we recommend that you tie the end of the release lanyard to a belt loop or clip to an article of clothing so that the release lanyard follows you. However, DO NOT tie around neck, arms or your harness!
5. Finally, watch out for ladder stand support bars as you come down. You may have to kick off the support bar as is seen on our website.

4. Locate lanyard attached to the release lever of the Hunter Rescue™. See photo.
5. Look down for limbs and other things that could catch you when you descend or that you may land on. Look down for a landing spot.
6. Bend knees to absorb shock on landing.

8. Slowly pull on lanyard which will release pressure on rope. The amount of pressure necessary is the same force it will take for you to initiate a pull up.
